-Gift of a four-celled (chatugabha) cave (lенa) by the merchant (nyеgama), the householder (gahapati) Vira (Vиra), one cell (оvaraka) being the gift of his wife (kuтuмbinи) Naмdasirи (Nandaщrи), and one that of his daughter Purisa-datа (Puruшadattа), to the community of monks (bhikhusaмgha) of the four quarters.

The group in the beginning of nyegamasa is really yne, but intended to be read as above. Ye for e is caused by the peculiar pronunciation of the diphthong, which, at present too, often sounds as if it were preceded by the semivowel. Sa in chasa is purely pleonastic (see No. 2, note). Niyаchitaм may be a corruption of niyаtitaм, or a misspelling.(ASWI)
