12. Saмvat 413 Deupатana, Paщupati-nath

The Trident Base Inscription of Jayalaмbha. Round the base (Jalahari) of a liкga opposite to the northern door of the temple of Paщupatinath on a platform with a tall brass trident. The inscribed part is about 71 cm wide and 9 cm long. Date: Saмvat 413 (without particulars). The trident is not the part of the base. Probably it came to be there being installed later. In the cloth rubbing of BLI the name of the donor appears to be Jayavarmа, but the ink rubbing shows Jayalaмbha. The letter is damaged, but on-the-spot examination confirms DV's reading laмbha. The metre is Vasantatilakа. (R)
(During the rule of) Щrи-Mаnadeva-nрpati Records the erection of a liкga called Jayeщvaram by one Jayalaмbha (Gnoli - Jayavarmma). As written, for the enhancement of his own virtues he granted, too, the land - dattam-akшayaниyam (as akшaya[nиvи]?).
