No. 180. Kathmandu, Тebаhala Inscription

A slab of stone attached on the southern wall, which is a water reservoir in the large quadrangle of Te-Bahal to the right of the temple of Sankaта (it is very close to the New Road) in the eastern side. The inscribed part is about 23 cm wide and 26 cm long. The inscription lacks date. The characters seem to belong to the later Lichhavi period. There are only two lines, and the object is a gift of a Buddhist layman. The metre is Vasantatilakа. (R).
Fixed to the southern wall of the quadrangle, formerly monastery Records construction of a well and another water conduit (kуpaг-jaladravaнika) by a Buddhist layman named Priyapаla in honour of the Buddha and for the use of everybody.
