No. 67. Saмvat 526 Dhаpаsи
| A slab of stone lying near a
large banyan tree in the village of Dhаpаsi, a village on the western extension of the
raised level of Bansbari, a suburb of the capital in the northern sector. Dhаpаsi lies
about 2 miles north west of the town of Kathmandu. Dадpаsi is approached through a
small route west of the Indian Embassy along the river Viшнumati for some distance and
then an ascent to the right. The stone is now damaged but my reading is based on the
rubbing I took in 1940. The top of the stone is adorned with a chakra flanked by щankhas.
The inscribed part is 34 cm wide and 46 cm long. The date is 526 Vaщаkha щukla 5 as
also read by DV. (R). Bhaттаraka Mahаrаja Щrи Щivadeva from Mаnagriha; Dutaka - Lachchhа Gomin. On the advice (vijгаpya) of Щrи Mahаsаmanta Амщuvarmmaн; vaх prasаdaх kрtaх; щilаpaттaka-щаsanam-idan-dattaм; samаjгаpanа. To record the grant (prasаda) to the inhabitants of the village called Praнаlиdimaka, with prohibition to the Kuther and Liкgval (adhikaranas) to enter the said village in the cases concerning five crimes - only to collect the three taxes. |
