Script: Box-headed variety of Central Indian alphabet.
Date: Beginning of the sixth century A.D.
Rectangular in shape, the plate is 9 cms, in breadth and 19 cms. in length. Its ends are
rounded and there is a hole about the middle of the left margin for the passage of the
ring. The plate was found in possession of a resident of the village Rawan, but according
to his information the plate was actually discovered at Mallar. If this information is
correct, the plate should be called 'Mallar Plate'. (AMS)
