Notes.

L.1 The word svasti and the punctuation mark are engraved in the left margin in between
lines 1 and 2 (SN).
L.3 Hultzsch translates smрti as "(knowledge of) law." However cf. Smриtimаn pratibhаnavаn in the description of Rаma by Vаlmiki (Rаma. II, i. 22) and the commentaries thereunder. (SN).
L.4 - sakala-mahi(hи)maн[д]ala-ma[n]ujapati-[p]ratipуjita-щаsanaх : cf. aщешa-narapati-samabhyarcchita-щаsanaх, an epithet of the king Щуdraka in Kаda. (p. 7) (SN).
L.5 Hultzsch corrects naya-bala into bhujabala, power of arms. But cf. sva-naya-bhuja-bala in No., 1, Tummalagudem plates, year 37, lines 4-5; -sаmant-аtula-bala- better read -sаmantо=tula- (SN).
L.7 Bathing in the avabhрtha of the horse-sacrifice is believed to purify persons of all their sins. Cf. a parallel epithet of Mаdhavavarman IV (No. X, lines 12-13) and Bhуs=ca yеna Hayamеdha-yаjinа prаpit-аvabhрtha majjanа babhau, a description of Pulakещi I in the Aihole inscription (EI, VI. p. 4, verse 8) (SN).
L.8 vijayaskandhаvаrа[t*] : the omission of t may be due to the Prаkрt influence. Cf. Kагcиpurа and Vекgи-purа respectively of the Pallava and the Sаlaкkаyana charters; -vаsakе Guddаdi- : Hultzsch reads vasаka-Gu(kаd=Gu)ddаdi (SN).|
L.10 ya Aм(A)gniщarmmaне: the anusvаra is evidently due to the influence of the Prаkrit word aмgi=Skt. agni. After -vibhуtyarttham(rtthaм), an expression like imaм grаmaм is understood (SN).
L.14 Gi pa is a contraction of the Prаkritic Giмha-pakhе=Skt. Grишmа-pakше; Di is a contraction of dinе (SN).
