L.2 Correctty - svаminaх pаdаnudhyаtо. It is to be construed with
Vikramеndravarmmа in line 19. Read -аva-bhrit-а- as -аvabhрth-а' (SN).
L.5 vаjapеya-yуthya-: read -pеy-оkthya- (SN).
L.7 -аnuштhаtаdhiштhа : read -штhаn-аdhiштhita-pratiштhita- (SN).
L.10 The usual form is Vаkатaka, however, Vаkатa of the present record seems to
indicate that ka of the former form is a Taddhita suffix in svаrtha (Vаkата eva
Vаkата Vakатakах) ( i.e., in the sense of the base it-self and not in any other
sense as believed by some writers. (e.g, in JBORS, XIX, p. 68; A New Hist. of the Ind.
People, VI, p. 96; JIH. XLIX, pp. 135 ff; etc. (SN).

L.18 аlaмkрtasya samyag= : following inscr. of Vikramеndravarmman II (No. VIII, line
14), read 'laмkрtatvаt=samyag- (SN).
L.22 Correctly Tryambakаya. But cf. Triyambakaм saмyaminaм dadarщa of Kаlidаsa
(Kumаrasaмbhava, III, verse 44) and Mаllinаtha's commentary thereunder. Read also
nаthаya +++makuтаya bhagavatе Traywnbakаya bhаvatе Sоmagirещvarаnаthаya
dattaх in lines 21-23. Here the reference is to the god Tryambaka (i.e. Щiva) the lord
or husband of Sоmagirещvarа (i.e., Pаrvatи). Again the same may also denote Щiva as
the lord of the Moon (Sоma) and Pаrvatи (Girещvarа i e., Sоmasya
Girешvarаyащ=cha nаthaх). Cf. the name Vаgadhищvarи (i e., the supreme queen of
speech) of Pаrvatи (The Lalitasahasranаma, 640). The word bhavatе in the passage of
the record may be in the verbal tense 'present'. See SED, s-v. bhavat. Cf. EI, IV, pp.
194. 198 (SN).
L.23-24 rаjга vachanаd==gаravен=аjгам kаrayiti : probably rаjго
vachana-gauravен-аjгам kаray=еti is intended. This sentence, evidently of the
concerned higher ofiicer. contains an instruction, originally in the office copy, given to
the аjга or the executor of the grant. Cf. the last sentence of Rаmatиrtham plates,
No. VI and note thereunder. =pаlаyati sо : read pаlayati sa. (SN).
L.25 Read svargiна sukhaм mоdati. Note Ihe Parasmaipada (SN).
L.26 -saмvassa(tsa)rambuл As has been suggested (EI, IV, p. 197, n. 2) this word may be
an equivalent of saмvatsaramulu of the Telugu inscriptions. As Kielhorn has slated the
word mаsa in what follows is quite meaningless and the whole passage containing the date,
expressed in Sanskrit, would be svaмvatsarе 10 grишmapakшe 8 [divasе*] 5. (SN).
L.32 brahma-hatyа : hatyа may be the Instrumental of hati 'killing' (SN).
