1. kанитho seems to be meant for kaнiттho. (Bu)
2. For the change of va to pa, compare words like Pali pajаpati, Sanskrit prajаvati and
the inscriptional bhagapato for bhagavato, pijite for vijite, and the like. Probably
Uttara was the stone-cutter who made the casket. (Bu)
