No. 32. Kanheri Buddhist cave inscription. Prakrit.

The inscription is on the back wall of the recess over a tank on the right–hand side of the entrance of cave No. 93. It is faintly cut and very indistinct. It records the dedication of a water tank. It measures 1.9 m x 45 cm. Letters 5 cm x 3 cm. Characters: Brаhmи, 200 A.D. Language: Prakrit. Orthography: The letters are very faint but they show the characteristics of the period.(ShG)
