This charter, found in the village Иpуr (Tenali Taluk, Guntur District, A.P.) consists of a set of three copper plates (each measuring about 16.5 cm by 3.8 cm) and a copper ring (about 7 cm in diameter) with a somewhat worn out circular seal (2.75 cm in diameter), divided into two sections by a horizontal line in the middle. Above the line is found a symbol, already described, 55 with a lamp on either side and with the representations probably of the Sun and the Moon above, all cut in relief. Below the line is the legend (1) Щrи-Mаdhava-(2)varmmа, in two lines. The whole set of the charter weighs about 30 tolas. The following transcript is based on the plate of the record published in EI, XVII, facing p.334. (SN).
This is a set of three thin copper-plates in the possession of Brindavanam Gopalacharlu at the village of Иpуr in the Tenаli Tаluk of the Guнтуr District, which was brought to the notice of Rao Bahadur H. Krishna Sastri by Mr. A. Rangasvami Sarasvati. The plates measure 6 3/4 inches in breadth and 1 3/4 inches in height. The outer faces of the first and last plates have been left biank, while the middle one bears writing on both sides. The margins of the plates are not raised into rims, but the writing is in good preservation. The plates are strung on a copper ring, which is 3'' in diameter and is passed through a hole on the left side of the writing. The two ends of the ring are secured in the base of a circular seal, which measures 1 1/4" in diameter and is somewhat worn. It is divided by a cross-line into two sections. The lower section bears, in relief, the legend :щrи Mаdhavavarma in two lines. Above the line seems to be a figure of Lakшmи or a Svastika on a pedestal, flanked by two lamp-stands and surmounted by the sun (?) and the crescent of the moon. The weight of the plates, with ring and seal, is 30 tolas. (EH)
