No. 10. Kanheri Buddhist stуpa inscription. Prakrit. Buhler - date between Pulumavi and Gotamiputra Siri-Yana-Satakarni.

The inscription in Cave No. 4 is of three lines and two letters cut into one side of the square stepped out top of the dagoba in the small circular chamber just to the left side of the chaitya. Length of Line No.1 - 67 cm x 6 cm. Length of Line No.2 - 67 cm x 5.6 cm. Length of Line No.3 - 56 cm x 5 cm. Length of Line No.4 - 8 cm x 5 cm. Characters: Brаhmи, 2nd century A.D. Language : Prakrit. Orthography : In Line 3 'dha' is peculiarly shown with a line in the letter. (ShG)

L. 1. Buфhler has noted that West's facsimile reads 'Bhayаa' in the first line where as Pandit Bhagawanlal omits the final 'a'. Pandit Bhagawanlal's reading is correct as there is no final 'a'. (ShG)
